Dear Explorer Families,

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! We are excited to come together with our students and community and start a new year of learning together. Our theme this year is “We are a T.E.A.M. - Together Everyone Achieves More”. As we launch the school year, your students will be able to share with you the many ways we are embracing our theme every day. Our theme supports our vision that EVERY student at Robert Gray will learn and thrive in an environment of high expectations, supported by positive relationships with staff and peers.

Our custodial staff has worked hard to clean and prepare the building for the new school year; and teachers have been working to prepare their classrooms for you. We are excited to welcome our returning and many new students and families this fall; and have several new staff members at Robert Gray. One of the best ways we hope to show “we are a TEAM” this year is through the relationship we continue to build between school and our families.

Our work is not easy, and none of us can accomplish it alone. Each person in our learning community — our teachers, parents & guardians, school counselors, support staff and custodial team — has a critical role in helping our students succeed. We need your support too. I would like to thank our families and community in advance for following our safety plan specifically at drop off and pick up before and after school. Our first priority is the safety of our school community and we count on you to contact the office if you have any questions or concerns about any of our school policies or procedures. We are also grateful for your patience during drop off and especially pick up while we help our newer families practice and understand how traffic flow works before and after school. If you plan to pick up your student after school, please click here for more information and to see the aerial map for how pickup works. A note for returning families; the pickup procedures are the same as last year.

Drop off begins at 8:40am. Our biggest need from families to support safety is to remember it is important that students are not dropped off, or allowed to arrive early in front of the school, as we do not have supervision before the building opens at 8:40. Our school day starts at 9:00. Please remember Wednesdays are early release days (even the first day of school), so students will be dismissed to buses and out front for pick up at 2:30pm.

We are so excited to start our new school year together ~ here is to a great year!  Remember that we are a TEAM, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us.  Go Explorers!

Warmly,

Mrs. Kristie Wall
